Why not me ?
Do you think you could make a real difference to people’s lives?
Do you get satisfaction from seeing children develop to their full potential?
Do you want to experience one of the most rewarding adventures of your life?
Our dream of bringing the world to our children at Seametrey came true a few years ago when people of different ages and backgrounds started volunteering at Seametrey Children’s Village. We thank all of our previous volunteers, they love our children and our children love them. We need the assistance of volunteers and welcome all help.
Anyone can volunteer provided you can stay a minimum of three months, are committed and have a skill to share. We need volunteers to teach English, French, Maths, Science and all sorts of skills – Art, craft, music, computer, swimming, games and sport etc. We also need volunteers to help with admin tasks, P.R tasks. The list is endless. Don’t worry if you are not an experienced teacher. The desire and commitment to help change people’s lives are the most important things. We have a great support network of staff at Seametrey Children’s Village to help you settle in.
Since our school has moved from Phnom Penh to Tonle Bati, 30km south of the capital, the school is new and as is the relationship with the children. Everything here is built from scratch, our classrooms and buildings, the playgrounds and climbing frames. As the school is located in a rural setting the students who come to Seametrey are from poor backgrounds and know little about the rest of the world. As a volunteer you have a lot of things to bring to them, from knowledge and education to cultural and social skills.
Tonle Bati is a beautiful area where you can reconnect with your true self away from the hustle bustle of the city. Volunteering here is an ideal project if you also wish to get to know the people of Cambodia. You will take home memories that will stay with you forever. Being a volunteer at Seametrey includes duties from teaching the children English and arts and crafts to assisting with the local maintenance of the school and ever growing site.
Men and women of all ages are welcome to join and help make a difference for as long as they can stay (a minimum of a school term). The experience of volunteering at Seametrey Children’s village is a means of sharing and caring.
